Eyre Square
The focal point of the City, Eyre Square has undergone many changes over the years. John F Kennedy came here before his assassination and the park is now called Kennedy memorial park in his honour.
The Town Walls
The earliest account of the walling of Galway is from 1270 of which significant sections of the walls are still in place today.
Lynch's Castle
Located at the centre of the old medieval town, Lynch's Castle is one of the oldest buildings in Ireland still used for commercial purposes.
Collegiate Church of St Nicholas
Dating from the 1300's, Christopher Columbus stopped off here on his way to the new world in 1477.
